SHIPFINANCE.GR carries a small number of paid sponsor placements. This page explains how they work, how they're labelled, and how they're kept separate from our editorial content.
Sponsors have no influence over what we publish. No advertiser reviews, approves, or requests changes to any article, market data, company profile, or news item before or after it appears on the site. Editorial and commercial decisions are made separately, by different processes, and a sponsorship can never be exchanged for favourable coverage.
All advertising on SHIPFINANCE.GR is sold directly — there is no programmatic ad network, ad exchange, or real-time bidding on this site. Every creative you see was booked by name with our team and reviewed before it went live. We do not currently run third-party ad networks such as Google AdSense — no such network is active on this site today. We have built (but not switched on) the technical groundwork to support one in the future, including a consent request before any such ad would load; the network itself will not go live until we have a real, approved account, and this page and our Privacy Policy will be updated again at that point with the specifics.
Every sponsor placement is marked "Advertisement," "Sponsored," or "Supported by" — never left unlabelled, and never styled to resemble an editorial link, headline, or market data. We cap ad density deliberately: no more than one placement is visible in a single screen at a time, and no placement is allowed to shift page content once it has loaded.
Our current sponsor placements are static images or text/links — they do not set third-party cookies, do not personalise based on your browsing history, and are not served by an ad exchange. We record anonymous, aggregate counts of how often a placement is shown and clicked (to report performance to sponsors and to price future placements); see our Privacy Policy for how that measurement works.
We work with a small number of sponsors at a time — banks, law firms, P&I clubs, brokers, and service providers who serve the Greek and Cypriot shipping finance community. To enquire about current availability, email info@shipfinance.gr.
